£1,085,000 is the total sum raised to date donated by KHC to local charities and projects since its revival in 2009. Last year’s fantastic 2023 event contributed £108K alone to this running total.
The 2023 sum has already been distributed to a wide range of local charities, each of which have received grants for specifically- designated purposes. They cover a broad range of needs to help many local people ranging from young people, the homeless, adults and children with disabilities and support for the elderly to mental health, medical support, people with life limiting illnesses and local community transport.
The event is run entirely by volunteers, whose efforts were marked by The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) presented to over 300 people in 2020. The dedication of so many individuals enables us in September each year to put on a great hill run event for everyone to enjoy and afterwards give all our proceeds to charity to help others. A formula that is very special!
If you are interested in applying for a grant from the 2024 Kop Hill Event, applications open in the Spring, date to be advised. Please go to https://heartofbucks.org/kop-hill-climb-fund
